Media Statement on the Current Armed Conflict in Mindanao
Women and children account for the majority of those adversely affected by armed conflicts. We count on the LGUs-involved, the national government, civil society and the MILF to take care of the special needs of women and children and in responding to the current situation. Also, the NCRFW reminds parties concerned to protect women and children at all cost from all forms of violence such as rape and prostitution. We appeal to all parties concerned to resolve the on-going conflicts through peaceful means and to respect life and uphold the rights of all victims caught in the middle of this discord.

ALL FOR WOMEN.Advocates for the passage of the Magna Carta of Women show support for the proposed legislation introduced in the Senate plenary recently. "Great Women Project, ...is a five-year project (2006-2011) of the National Commission
on the Role of Filipino Women (NCRFW) as the project's local executing agency with funding
support from CIDA. It is a capacity development initiative that aims to support and promote
the economic empowerment of women, especially those in micro-enterprises, by contributing
to the creation of a gender-responsive enabling environment for micro-enterprise
development. It has three components: (1) Capacity development for NCRFW, (2) National
enabling environment for women's economic empowerment (WEE), and (3) Local enabling for
