Manila, August 3, 2010 – The Magna Carta of Women (MCW) implementation is now in full swing as one advertisement of the Colt 45 Vava Vroom Real Man Promo was pulled out while another went deletions of scenes showing a lot of skin. These were done after the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) demanded for Asia Brewery, Inc., the manufacturer of Colt 45 beer, to stop making commercials demeaning to women.

Manila, 15 July 2010 – To end discrimination against women and to promote and recognize their rights, the Philippine Commission on Women launched the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of the Magna Carta of Women (MCW) on July 8 at Manila Peninsula.
Justice Secretary Leila De Lima said that DOJ and the PCW share the common goal of imparting meaningful change on gender equality and human rights. De Lima emphasized the importance of gauging “actual changes and improvements… instead of mere rhetoric” during the launch of the MCW IRR and the 3rd Asia Pacific Human Development Report (APHDR). PCW Chairperson Myrna T. Yao, meanwhile, said that the event is a “big step in making more women and men get actively involved in overcoming gender inequalities.”

Manila, 15 July 2010 – Women now have the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of R.A 9710 or the Magna Carta of Women (MCW) as anchor in rightfully claiming their rights,
On July 8 at the Manila Peninsula, the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) led the launch of the MCW IRR and the 3rd Asia Pacific Human Development Report (APHDR). The event was participated in by women’s groups, men advocates for gender equality, and representatives from the international development community and from concerned government agencies mandated to implement the MCW.
